LTC (Ret) MICHAEL E. IRATCABAL

            LTC (Ret) Michael E. Iratcabal was born in Reno, Nevada in 1963.  He received a Reserve Officer commission from ROTC in 1986 and entered active duty at Aberdeen Proving Ground the following year.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Nevada at Reno, and holds a Master of Science degree in management from Florida Institute of Technology.  His military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic and Advance Course, Command and General Staff College, Combined Arms Service Staff School, and the NBC and Airborne Schools.

 

    His current assignment is the Senior Army Instructor for Wooster High School, Reno, Nevada.  Other key assignments were the Inspector General, Nevada Military Department, Carson City, Nevada, Brigade Logistics Officer, 2/78th Training Support Brigade, the Battalion Executive Officer, 10th Forward Support Battalion, and the Materiel Maintenance Officer, 10th Division Support Command, 10th Mountain Division (LI), Fort Drum, New York; Support Operations Officer, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division; Combat Service Support Automation Management Officer, 13th Corps Support Command, Fort Hood, Texas; Battalion Support Operations Officer, 3rd Brigade (FE), 91st Division (E); Instructor/Writer, Command and Staff Department, and Company Commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 16th Ordnance Battalion, United States Army Ordnance Center and School, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; His initial assignment was with the 123rd Support Battalion (Main), First Armored Division, Nuremberg, Germany; he held key positions of Headquarters and Maintenance Platoon Leader, Light Maintenance Shop Officer, Company Executive Officer, and the Battalion’s Training and Operations Officer.

 

    His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Air Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), and the Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC).

 

He is married to the former Danielle A. Detweiler, and they have four children, Derik, Nicole, Danea, and Bryan.

          For the last twelve years, Master Sergeant (MSG) Gray’s assignments in the United States Army prior to retirement have been at Ft. Carson, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and at Schofield Barracks, in Hawaii. Her many other assignments as a Career Counselor include: Korea, Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and Ft. Lewis, Washington. MSG Gray’s ultimate assignment was teaching skiing and climbing at the Army’s Mountain Operations Course with the Special Forces in Garmish, Germany.

 

    Master Sergeant Gray has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Management with a minor in Fitness Training from Wayland Baptist University. She is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Sierra Nevada College. MSG Gray currently teaches JROTC to the first year cadets
